U.S. Rabbis asked to accept homosexuality Judaism .- AURORA Journal, news arrived in my mail.

U.S. Rabbis asked to accept homosexuality Judaism .- Dozens of Orthodox rabbis have signed a declaration of principles stating that religious communities must accept those of its members who are "active homosexuals and their adopted children or biological, and should not be encouraged to undergo "change therapy" or marry someone of the opposite sex.
The announcement was made after a panel of leaders of the yeshiva Ramim, convened six months ago in New York. The panel consisted of three gay graduates of Yeshiva University, and was hosted by the spiritual supervisor, Rabbi Yosef Blau (photo).
The occasion opened the controversial issue of public debate, which caused a stir in the modern Orthodox faith which is affiliated with the yeshiva.
The statement was made during the months that followed the panel, with the help of mental health professionals and many discussions. The end result was signed by the senior vice president of the Rabbinical Council of America, Rabbi Shmuel Goldin, and Rabbi Haskel Lookstein, who heads the community Jeshurun in Manhattan.
The Declaration of Principles states that the Jewish Halacha prohibits only acts gay, and not the orientation or attraction to members of the same sex. Add that homosexuals are free to seek the "change therapy" if they feel the need, but that professionals in the field have found these treatments ineffective, at best, and sometimes harmful.
The rabbis also say that homosexuals should be accepted as full members of synagogues and schools, and should be treated like any other member of the community. However, as such, must comply with the obligations and mitzvot in the community, including rules or principles practiced by the Jewish community who are not officially dictated by halacha formally.
The rabbis also opposed to "make public" any member of the gay community has not openly declared their sexual orientation.
Although Judaism "can not give their blessing and approval to Jewish religious ceremonies and weddings for commitment of persons of one sex," the rabbis added that the community has yet to accept homosexual couples as well as their biological children or adopted .
"But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, nor even be named among you, as becometh saints: neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.
Because you know this, that no fornicator, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
No one deceive you with empty words, because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them. Because you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord: walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth), proving what is pleasing to the Lord.
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness but rather expose them it is shameful even to speak of what they do in secret.
But all things that are highlighted by light, are made manifest, because light is what makes manifest. Wherefore he saith, Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine.
See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time because the days are evil. So do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord. Ephesians 5: 3-17
